1. Dhaka Medical College

Dhaka Medical College is a government-run medical college in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. It was founded on July 10, 1946, and is now the top medical institution in the country. Students can obtain a five-year MBBS degree at the undergraduate level, and can also pursue various degrees in different subjects of medical science at the postgraduate level.

The college offers both undergraduate MBBS and postgraduate programs. Currently, the undergraduate program is affiliated with Dhaka University, while the postgraduate program is affiliated with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

In 2021, the college announced the admission of 230 students for the general and quota MBBS courses, with students admitted through the Directorate of Health and the Ministry of Health. As of 2020, there were 128 foreign students studying at Dhaka Medical College.

9. Comilla Medical College (CoMC)

Comilla Medical College is a government-run institution located in the Kuchaitoli village of the Comilla district. Initially established on May 28, 1979, by then-President Ziaur Rahman, the college was discontinued in 1982 due to a change in the political regime of Bangladesh.

It wasn’t until August 15, 1992, that the first academic year began under the leadership of Dr. Habibur Rahman Ansari, the inaugural principal of the college.

Presently, the college admits over 140 students annually for the five-year MBBS course. As of November 2022, 26 batches have successfully completed the MBBS program. Moreover, the admission process for the 31st batch has been concluded in the academic year 2021-2022.

10. Rangpur Medical College (RpMC)

Rangpur Medical College is a government medical school in the Rangpur district of Bangladesh. It is situated opposite the District Jail on Jail Road in the Dhap area of Rangpur city, which is about 330 km from Dhaka.

The college was founded in 1966 by Monayem Khan, the then Governor General of the East Pakistan Government, to provide better medical care.

The first batch in 1971 had 50 students, but now there are 175 students, including 10 students from South Asian countries like India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Maldives.

Rangpur Medical College covers about 65 acres and has a three-storied building and a 1000-bed hospital.
